Day 30.

Day 30. Today is the last painting. Can't believe I painted 30 paintings in the past thirty days. Actually it was a few more as I had some gallery commitments that I had to do paintings for as well. For the last one I did a plein air sketch up in Silver Plum a fun little funky mountain town off of I70. Thank you all for looking and following along with me the past month.

Day 17

Day 17. Got out for some plein air painting near Boulder. There is nothing like working from life even if its cold. Better than working from a photo any day! Even had a few wild turkeys to keep me company on this one.

Day 16, Back to winter on this one. Im not the biggest fan of winter but painting snow is well worth the numb fingers and cold. The patterns of light and shadow you get across the snow never cease to fascinate me. Then you throw in all the warm and cool colors in the snow and it's a painter's delight.

Day 15, Half way through the 30 in 30. I am learning so much about where I want to go with my work in 2016. Each painting is a new experiment and journey with paint. I really wanna push my work to a new level and playing around with 30 little canvases is great way to get there.

Day 6 A little study of some fall aspens. Really tried to play with the edges in this one. As CW Mundy says "build the form then destroy it". Amazing how if the shape is set at the beginning of a painting how much you can scrape and rub and the shape will hold together.
